The Role of R2 Capacity Builders
History
The R2 Capacity Building Team includes district leaders who have gone through a rigorous training program to become experts in Project Based Learning in Richland Two. Additionally, they have been trained in facilitating the PBL Workshop in Richland Two.
Role of the R2 Capacity Builders
In addition to their other job responsibilities, R2 Capacity Builders are prepared to offer support to schools and teachers implementing PBL in a variety of ways. Support may consist of:
- Working with the PBL Lead (person trained through the PBL Coaching Course or other designee) in each school to support teachers implementing PBL
- Creating and maintaining PBL Badge system for recognition of teachers in different stages of PBL implementation
- Support new teachers who have not had PBL training
- Providing resources and suggesting partnerships to teachers implementing PBL
- Using protocols with PBL Leads and teachers to support ongoing critique and revision of projects
- Maintaining a project vetting process and project library at the district level
- Host regular webinars on various PBL topics, including project showcases and celebrations, PBL project design and implementation strategies, guest teachers, etc.
- Create and maintain a R2PBL blog, including resources, tools, and project showcases.
